Verona

Verona was named in honor of Vera McIntyre - whose husband was one of the builders of the Wilmington and Onslow Railroad. The area earlier had a name of Aman's Store. Aman's Store was established around 1862. Thirty years later, when the railroad was built and Verona created, the Aman's Store Post Office moved here and was renamed.
